Biography
Fun Fact: I have a twin
Hello, my name is Jack, and I’m from New Jersey. I plan on concentrating in Environmental Engineering and Urban Studies. I’ve always been interested in finding sustainable solutions for our everyday needs and ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Additionally, I want to learn how past urban policies have contributed to inequality and explore ways to mitigate these effects. I’m excited to collaborate with like-minded peers at PSP and contribute to meaningful research. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, and building Legos.
Research
This summer I worked on a research project with Breathe Providence, a community focused air monitoring network to better understand air quality and meet community needs, led by Professor Meredith Hastings. My project focused on updating an existing Air Quality Vulnerability Index with PM2.5 data to understand how exposure to pollutants can affect vulnerability, as well as identifying the most vulnerable communities in Providence. One thing I have learned from this work is how to effectively convey data for community understanding.
