Biography

Fun fact: I have a newborn baby sister.

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I am concentrating in Computational Biology, in hopes of working in the research industry. I am excited to be apart of PSP, because I get the opportunity to shadow professors who work in areas that I am interested in. I am currently apart of Brown's West African Dance Team, Oja. I am also on the Events Team for Black Student Union.

Research

Research Experience: In the Summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to work in Gary Wessel's Molecular Oogenesis Lab. I dissected and removed ovaries from Sea Urchin species, Lytechinus variegatus. I conducted qPCR and data analysis to identify genes expressed in sea urchin ovaries. I learned how to use Single Cell analysis to identify the amount of cell types in Sea Urchin ovaries. I also learned how to code in “R” (R studio) to conduct Situ hybridization.
